Magic Theater played original music in the spirit of Rock and Roll. Shows would include light shows, fog, theatrics, and of course jam-spirited music by the core band and guest artists. In the spirit of the Dead, no 2 songs were ever played the same way twice. Improvisation and collaboration, with a heavy bent, was the norm. Magic Theater maintained a relentless tour schedule, playing over 70 shows in 2002. MT played hundreds of clubs, bars, and festivals, from Northern California to Oregon to Arizona. We opened for Dick Dale, Strangefolk, and played at the Whole Earth Festival in Davis. Magic Theater produced a 3- song EP within a month of playing together, and has since produced two CDs, music of which is to follow. The original line-up of Magic Theater was Joe Chamberlin - Guitar and Vox, David Deveaux - Vocals, keyboards, Jason Tate -Bass guitar, Damir Popovac -Drums and Percussion. In 2001, Damir quit the band to concentrate on school, and was replaced by Brian Louton. When I quit in Dec 2002 (in order to escape the relentless touring and focus on other things), Brett Johnson joined the band as second guitar, and I was replaced by Edge. Magic Theater continued into late 2003. Magic Theater CD's
